Learn to create slideshows of your images with a musical accompaniment. Bring along your laptop, some images and a soundtrack or two as this will be a largely practical session.
Vic will be organising a home-grown evening by way of a simple introduction to a basic audio visual presentation using a Macbook and the free software ‘iMovie’ which is also available on iMac iPad and iPhone.
You are very welcome to just come along and watch the demonstration and Vic will try to answer questions but he hopes to get members involved with their own presentations so you may find this more fun - so why not try it for yourself?
If you would like to have a go then Vic has made a few suggestions (below) to save time on the evening and to help you dive right in and try linking your images to music in a short AV sequence.
Please ensure your MacBook is fully charged and it may be prudent to bring your mains charger for topping up.
Please download and install the latest version of ‘iMovie’ free from the App Store (Mauve Ikon - version 10.1.10)
Helpful if you can group your chosen images (saved as top quality Jpeg images) in a folder preferably in sequence.
Consider music* to match your images and save these MP3 audio files to iTunes on your MacBook beforehand
*NB - for club purposes, our membership of Southern Federation allows inclusion of pre recorded music for 'non commercial’ use Including CD’s and downloaded music from purchased sites such as iTunes. However, if you feel you may want to share your AV presentation on social media you are safer to choose 'Non Copyright’ ‘Non Royalty’ material but be aware that some of these sites do charge for individual download or require a paid subscription. Also be cautious that some sites offer ‘free trial’ as this usually has time restrictions or other limitations to encourage you to subscribe etc.
For genuine Non Copyright & FREE USE material there are even some options in iMovie itself i.e. Select ‘Audio’ then choose ‘Sound Effects’ or ‘Theme Music’ . However if you find this choice a bit limiting, just check out one of the free download sites on the internet such as: -
